IN 2014, MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND LYNNE CALLED ME UP AND SAID, “SCOTT, I AM HAVING A FUNDRAISER AT CURRIE MIDDLE SCHOOL, BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK AND WE ARE PLAYING PICKLEBALL…”
“LYNNE, FANTASTIC, I WILL BRING MY CHECKBOOK BUT WHAT IS PICKLEBALL…??” LYNNE TOLD ME, “JUST WEAR YOUR TENNIS CLOTHES AND SEE YOU THIS SUNDAY!”
WROTE THE CHECK AND THEN WAS IN A TUTORIAL, MINI LESSON ON RULES, SCORING ETC… FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES.
I STAYED FOR 3 HOURS, AND PLAYED 10 GAMES!
BEEN HOOKED EVER SINCE!
I TOOK TO PICKLEBALL AS I STARTED PLAYING TENNIS WHEN I WAS 6, PLAYED IN HIGHSCHOOL, AND PLAYED COLLEGE TENNIS IN COLORADO. ALL IN I PLAYED MORE THAN 40 YEARS OF TENNIS.
TENNIS IS LONG GONE FOR ME AND PICKLEBALL IS MY PASSION AND THAT IS WHY I BECAME A CERTIFIED PICKLEBALL INSTRUCTOR
